bridgingIT integrates Heidelberg Mobil International
Mannheim and Heidelberg (Germany), 5 June 2018. – Effective from 1 June, BridgingIT GmbH (bIT) and Heidelberg Mobil International GmbH (HD Mobil) have joined forces. Representatives of both companies announced today that Heidelberg Mobil International GmbH has been integrated into the bridgingIT family. The Heidelberg-based technology forge will remain a brand, company and business partner for its customers and will in particular continue to develop its Deep Map™ technology independently. bridgingIT will act as a product-neutral, independent integration partner.
Both companies are members of the IT network Baden-Württemberg: Connected e.V. (bwcon) and have been working together in a strategic partnership for some time. For bridgingIT, the merger results above all in an expansion of its service portfolio and a strengthening of its know-how in the field of mobile technologies. Integration into the bridgingIT family will give HD Mobil more expertise, greater security and better scalability in a larger and more powerful team.
Both companies have their origin in the Rhine-Neckar region. Heidelberg Mobil has its roots in scientific research, and bridgingIT was founded ten years ago in Mannheim as an independent consulting company. Customer proximity has always been part of both companies' corporate philosophy. But the rapprochement that now facilitated the integration was not only for geographical reasons. Klaus Baumgärtner, one of the two Managing Directors of BridgingIT GmbH, commented:
“The merger was an idea whose time had simply arrived. And everyone involved benefits equally from the new corporate structure: bridgingIT, which can now build on the enormous experience and expertise of its new subsidiary in the field of mobile technologies and location-based solutions, and Heidelberg Mobil, which can now operate together with a strongly growth-oriented and effective integration partner. The common goal is to consolidate our positioning as a strong partner for geographically relevant digital business processes, indoor navigation, location-based services, spatial analysis and speech recognition.”
Dr. Matthias Jöst, one of the two Managing Directors of Heidelberg Mobil International GmbH, made a similar statement: “For us, the integration into bridgingIT brings considerable advantages. We can now expand our expertise in the areas of indoor navigation, location-based services and digital business processes under the roof of a very strong company. In doing so, we will continue to operate independently in the market, maintain our brand identity while benefiting from bridgingIT’s excellent market access and high market reputation. For our customers and partners, who will continue to be advised and supported by our team, the integration also holds great potential and the advantage of a stable and long-term market position.” Managing Director Dr. Carsten Günther added with a view to the activity area “Software services and solutions”: “Our strengths in customer-oriented mobile software solutions and Java-based enterprise systems will now be available for bridgingIT’s customers. That gives us great opportunities.”
BridgingIT GmbH was founded in Mannheim (Germany) in 2008. Today, the IT company advises upper mid-sized companies and corporate customers on the implementation of corporate strategies and the use of state-of-the-art technologies. It employs more than 500 staff at nine locations in Germany and Switzerland. In addition to Heidelberg Mobil International GmbH, acquired in June 2018, the group also includes CraftingIT GmbH in Magdeburg and fastahead GmbH & Co KG in Berlin.
